Dobby Gibson’s first book, Polar (Alice James Books, 2005), won the 2004 Beatrice Hawley Award and was a finalist for the 2006 Minnesota Book Award. His second collection, Skirmish (Graywolf Press, 2009), was a finalist for the 2010 Minnesota Book Award. A third collection is forthcoming from Graywolf Press in 2013. He’s been awarded fellowships from the McKnight Foundation and Jerome Foundation, has appeared in Ploughshares, The Iowa Review, New England Review, Fence, jubilat and broadcast on “The Writer’s Almanac” with Garrison Keillor. He lives in Minneapolis.
