Catherine Jagoe is a translator and writer with a PhD in Spanish Literature from the University of Cambridge, England. Her poetry and creative nonfiction have appeared in numerous literary journals. She won a 2015 Pushcart Prize for an essay in The Gettysburg Review. She is the author of two poetry chapbooks, News from the North (2015) and Casting Off (2007). Her translations include the Amnesty International award-winning Argentine novel My Name is Light by Elsa Osorio (Bloomsbury, 2002) and That Bringas Woman by Benito Pérez Galdós (Dent/Everyman Series, 1996). Her translations of Uruguayan poets Paula Simonetti and Sebastian Rivero have appeared or are forthcoming in American Poetry Review, Asymptote, Notre Dame Review, spoKe, Modern Poetry in Translation and Words without Borders. She is a contributor to Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wisconsin Life series.
