David Keplinger is the author of four books of poetry, The Most Natural Thing (New Issues Poetry & Prose, 2013) and The Prayers of Others (New Issues, 2006), which won the 2006 Colorado Book Award. He is the recipient of the T.S. Eliot Prize, a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the Danish Arts Council. He directs the MFA Program in Creative Writing at American University in Washington, D.C. Keplinger has translated two collections of poetry by Danish poet Carsten René Nielsen: World Cut Out with Crooked Scissors (New Issues, 2007) and House Inspections (BOA Editions, 2011).
