francine j. harris is a 2015 NEA fellow whose second book, play dead (Alice James Books, 2016), has received early praise on such noted lists as Publishers Weekly and in American Poets. Her first collection, allegiance (Wayne State University Press, 2012), was a finalist for the 2013 Kate Tufts Discovery and PEN Open Book Award, and recent work has appeared in Literary Hub and Academy of of American Poets. Originally from Detroit, she is a Cave Canem fellow and Writer in Residence at Washington University in St. Louis.
