Hillholm Writing Residency Application Deadline, March 15, 2024

Fishouse has partnered with Santosha at Hillholm Estate, a yoga, meditation, and writing retreat center in the western mountains of Maine, to sponsor the Hillholm Writing Residency. Twice each year (spring and winter), Hillholm hosts a cohort of a dozen writers for two weeks of unstructured writing time.

Consistent with the enduring Fishouse philosophy to support emerging writers, the Hillholm Residency prioritizes awards to applicants with two or fewer book, at any stage in their careers. Hillholm welcomes applications from writers of any genre, not only poetry.

All expenses (full room and board) of Hillholm residents are supported by scholarship. The residents’ only expenses are beverages purchased at the bar; healing arts services; laundry; and gratuities.
