Biography

Deborah Ager’s first book, Midnight Voices (WordTech), was published in 2009. Her poems appear in New England Review, The Georgia Review, Quarterly West, Birmingham Poetry Review, and New South. She’s received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the West Chester Poetry Conference, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and she received a Walter E. Dakin Fellowship to the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. She is founding editor of 32 Poems Magazine. Many poems first appearing in 32 Poems have been honored in the Best American Poetry and Best New Poets anthologies and on Verse Daily and Poetry Daily. Ager curates the Joaquin Miller Reading Series in Washington, D.C. She co-edited The Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Jewish American Poetry (2013) and Old Flame: Ten Years of 32 Poems Magazine (Wordfarm, 2013).
